We're jumping back into Call of Duty with another well-hidden Easter egg lurking in the shadows of Black Ops Cold War. Since way back in 2008's Call of Duty: World at War, we've put zombies in our crosshairs and blown those rotting rascals to pieces. These days, Zombies is a fan-favourite addition to modern CoD and is a staple of Treyarch titles.

In Black Ops Cold War, the zombies are clawing their way out of the grave and onto the "Die Maschine" and "Firebase Z" maps. There are also various modes and the hyped Season 2 release of Outbreak. There's been a lot of emphasis on Warzone and the overhaul of Verdansk with Season 3, but with Cold War also celebrating the dawn of a new eraOutbreak just added the new "Duga" map. Alongside "Duga", a unique zombie has come in all guns blazing. But just who is Ronald Raygun?

What is the Ronald Raygun Easter egg?

While the Zombies Season 3 patch notes focus on the new "Duga" region, new vehicles like the FAV and Cargo Truck, and the Fury Crystal event, Treyarch also buried the arrival of Ronald Raygun deep within. As a not-so-subtle nod to President Ronald Reagan appearing in the main game's campaign, Ronald Raygun is a brand new zombie. Don't worry, the P.O.T.U.S. hasn't been bitten and turned into a zombie - it's just a name.

Ronald Raygun is a new zombie Outbreak and is easy to spot thanks to his pink mohawk and tattered leather jacket. He also comes with a unique health bar (although it takes the same amount of damage to down him). If you're asking why you need to bother with Ronald Raygun, he has an added bonus of dropping a free Wonder Weapon. If you manage to take out Ronald Raygun, you'll get the 100-ammo Ray Gun. It's definitely an easier method to nab the Ray Gun than going through Mystery Boxes, Trials, or taking on a boss zombie.

Where is the Ronald Raygun Easter egg?

Downing Ronald Raygun and reaping the rewards of your endeavors is all well and good, but you might be asking how to find him. Unfortunately, Ronald Raygun is a bit like the mythical Lord of the Mountain in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Although Ronald Raygun is a welcome addition to Season 3, his appearance is completely random. Chances are, you'll have to jump into several rounds of Outbreak to see Ronald Raygun, let alone take him out to get the Ray Gun.

Given the seemingly random spawning of Ronald Raygun, players will have to keep their wits about them if they want to make the most of his appearance. This makes Ronald Raygun something of a rarity in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and just like tracking down Bigfoot in Fortnite, it's sure to be a thrill if you spot him in Outbreak. We wish you all the best in finding Ronald Raygun, and if you do, make sure you share your experience with the CoD community for the clout. Happy hunting, Zombies fans.
