Silent Hill 2’s remake has been a long time coming, and fans are starting to get antsy for a number of reasons. Waiting for the game alone is enough reason to feel a little distressed, but the game’s controversial combat has rubbed some prospective players the wrong way, drawing parallels to the remakes of the first Resident Evil games in a way that has confused many.

Either way, the game is coming, and fans are curious to see what awaits them - and now it looks like we might have an idea about when to expect its long-awaited arrival.

A new leak has come via a Mexican retailer that could be hinting at a new release date for the upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2.

Online retailer Sanborns has posted a listing for a PS5 version of Silent Hill 2, also listing alongside its $1,359 price point that the game is set to launch on May 30.

As ever, it’s worth taking with a pinch of salt given that placeholders are left in unfinished game listings, but fans will take anything at this point. The game has been in the works for some time now, and though we’ve been led to expect the game’s launch at some time this year, nothing is concrete yet.

Plus, as this date comes to light, it’s not the only evidence that we’ve seen recently that could hint at an imminent launch for the game.

Silent Hill 2 has been rated in Korea

The Korean Ratings Board completed its work in late February, assigning the remake a rating.

Typically, this indicates that the game’s content is predominantly finished, and though it doesn’t always indicate an immediate release date announcement is to come, it’s still further proof that the game is finally nearing its final development days.

It’s great news for long-time fans of the series, especially after they’ve spent so long pining after a new mainline title. It’s about damn time if you ask us.
