Respawn Entertainment hasn't been the most consistent when it comes to talking about its projects that aren't keeping Apex Legends running. Thankfully, all of that could be about to change with an Apex Legends spin-off.

Notoriously, the team completely deconfirmed Titanfall 3 before later teasing that the game could yet come out. Ever since, we haven't heard anything new aside from the reveal of its new Star Wars sequel, Jedi: Survivor. But now, we've got a full announcement on what's coming next from Respawn - and Apex fans are going to be very pleased indeed.

What Is The Apex Legends Spin-Off?

The new game by Respawn Entertainment is currently hiring, and the job listing that has been found on the company's website has been surprisingly upfront with the fact that it will be taking place in the Apex universe. There is one major difference though, and it's that this one is a single-player experience.

The listing is looking for a senior engine and systems designer, and it describes the game as an "Apex Universe FPS Incubation Title." Given that Apex itself is something of a Titanfall spin-off, things are getting pretty meta.

There's little else that we know about the game beyond the fact that it is an Apex title, and is a single-player FPS. This is still exciting news, as Apex's stature as one of the biggest battle royale games in the world offers the makings of a truly impressive single-player game.

Could Apex Spin-Off Include More Titanfall?

Knowing the direction that Apex Legends has taken in terms of getting involved in the Titanfall lore, there's every chance that this title could be a new opportunity to truly bridge the gap between the battle royale and the cult-favourite shooter. When the characters of Apex are already involved in the Titanfall lore, Valkyrie especially, there's an opportunity for Respawn to blur the lines even further to make the two franchises truly meet.

Either way, this is massively exciting, and knowing how well Respawn has handled Apex over the years, this mysterious game could be truly something special. Could it even be a first for the BR genre? No pressure or anything.
