Finally, Modern Warfare 3 is here, and the community is scrambling to uncover all of the best loadouts in the pre-season meta.
While weapons like the MCW, Holger 556, and BAS-B are quickly making a name for themselves, some other powerhouse options still deserve your attention. For WhosImmortal, there's one AR that's being underappreciated because of its burst fire pattern, which immediately puts certain CoD fans off.
However, he's convinced it may be the "best gun in the game" due to its impressive TTK and the ability to insta-kill a foe.

Don't make the mistake of sleeping on the DG-58 in Modern Warfare 3 because other burst guns in MW2 were relatively underwhelming. This weapon's damage output is absurd, and as the fire rate between bursts is so fast, it's incredibly consistent at mid-to-long range.
While a lot of players are raving about the BAS-B Battle Rifle, WhosImmortal believes the DG-58 may be the "best gun in the game," so you can't afford not to have it in your loadout list.
Of course, weapons that are not full auto will always be less forgiving and require more accuracy, but it's well worth it if you're looking to insta-kill foes. Reminiscent of the OG FAMAS from MW2 (2009), it's great to see a burst gun thriving in MW3 instead of being in its usual underpowered state.
How popular is the DG-58 in Modern Warfare 3?
According to WZStats, the DG-58 has a relatively low pick rate of just 1.8%. To put it in perspective, the Holger 556 is sitting at 11%, and the MCW is at 10%, so it's certainly lagging behind the most popular options.
The MW3 meta is still blossoming, and there's definitely a place for the DG-58 if you can deal with its burst fire. Those who choose to master this weapon will have all the tools to carry their matches and obtain every single one of their selected killstreaks.
