Sledgehammer Games' Modern Warfare 3 completely overhauled the perk system from MW2, scrapping the typical pick-three system. Instead, players now have Gear in the form of Gloves, a Vest, and Boots, providing different Perk-style bonuses.
This has received widespread praise from players, but it has meant that certain Perks have been cut from the previous game. Now, some of the community is desperate for one specific Perk to return, claiming it was the "best of the best" for multiplayer.
MW3 fans want the Quick Fix perk back in multiplayer
Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user nothing_in has made the case that Quick Fix should be added to MW3 and believes it needs to make a "comeback."
For those who are unaware, the MW2 Perk increases your health regen whenever you kill another player or capture and hold an objective. This means you can immediately move on to your next skirmish without the risk of taking a gunfight with a low health bar.
There's a lot of love for Quick Fix in the thread, as MW3 players feel as if they take damage and then have to wait a huge amount of time to recover. "Yep, feel like the regen rate is way too slow," said one user, with another claiming Quick Fix is the "best of the best Perk, Quick Fix needs to return."
Others think Quick Fix would be too overpowered in MW3
Not everyone is on the same page, though, with some MW3 players arguing Quick Fix may be OP due to the slow TTK. For them, the only reason it worked in MW2 was because enemies died significantly quicker.
"I think it could actually get pretty annoying with this TTK because then people would constantly get healed up after your teammates just lit them up," said one user, with another arguing "Quick Fix + a TTK of 300ms? They'd be unkillable if they were on an objective, mo thanks."
At the moment, the only similar Quick Fix-style equipment is the Med Box, but as it is a lot less strong, most of the community prefers to run different Field Upgrades.
We'll have to wait and see whether Sledgehammer believes it could be added in a balanced way. There's clearly a demand for its return, but has the potential to be unbelievably OP if it's implemented poorly.
