Given that we've been shooting each other for over 20 years now, it's gotten to the point in Call of Duty history where standard modes like Team Deathmatch are just plain boring.

Seriously, how many times can we load into the same mode, shoot, and leave? The same is starting to emerge for Domination, Search and Destroy, and Kill Confirmed. They're all staple modes but tedious.

That's why many of these newer playlists are being lapped up, and also why so many players are a bit cheesed off that they keep getting removed.

Nowadays, players love the small maps, as Meat, Rust, Shipment, and even the new but slightly larger Greece and Rio, are all among the most popular places to hang out on CoD.

Rustment especially has been a revelation as late, as the combination of Rust and Shipment piled into one 24/7 run and gun experience was loved by many. That was until it was abruptly removed.

As part of the playlist rotation every week, Sledgehammer has canned Rustment, and there's a vocal minority of fans who have been left fuming.

Fans implore developers to stop removing their favourite playlists

"People like the quick pace the go go go. The fact that no alternate small map style was giving is crazy to me," one outraged fan said as they took to posting a Reddit thread named "Why remove 24/7 Rustment/variants?"

"We need a permanent small map playlist. I am not trying to play campfire tales in sniper alley," added another fan.

A third also commented in a lighter heart, claiming that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone. "It’s like the McRib…it must be taken from you to then fully appreciate when it comes back," they said.

At least, soon, there will be even more tiny maps to enjoy, and a Meat House venture could be on the cards as Vanguard's Das House prepares for launch.
