Balancing is one of the most difficult tasks for Sledgehammer Games in Modern Warfare 3, as there's always something to tweak or adjust.
No matter how many patches are rolled out, there will always be one weapon or piece of equipment that is slightly overturned in the eyes of the community.
There's also the flip side, where the developers opt to bring down the hammer on a gun, and the fans disagree with the decision.
Well, that's exactly what happened with the BAS-B on April 9, with players slamming the changes as the "dumbest nerf" of all time.

The absence of Renetti nerfs in the April 9 patch was a shock for Warzone fans, but the inclusion of BAS-B changes in MW3 has been met with widespread confusion.
In the update, the Battle Rifle's rate of fire was decreased by 10% from 667rpm to 600rpm. While the JAK Outlaw-227 Kit Aftermarket Part was buffed for the gun, the majority of fans use the weapon in its standard form - so this hasn't helped in the eyes of many.
Sledgehammer's decision to nerf the BAS-B is interesting, given that it wasn't dominating the pick rate charts.
With the gun's power being reduced so many times at this point, some members of the community believe it has been forced into "irrelevance."

The BAS-B changes have not gone down well with the fanbase, who have slammed it as the "dumbest nerf" of all time, as in their eyes, there was no justification.
Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, players have voiced their frustration over the "absolutely terrible" choice to nerf the gun once again.
"BAS-B sucks now and is just not worth using in any way shape or form, they have gone way too far with the nerf to the point it gets outgunned by pretty much every other gun," said one user.
Another argued, "As soon as I saw the RoF nerf, I knew the weapon was cooked, it's just a worse G36 now... Probably the dumbest nerf they’ve done."
Unfortunately, the changes may have just wiped the BAS-B completely out of the meta, so fans of this weapon will likely have to leave it behind or face being outgunned in the majority of skirmishes.
