Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer has countless modes for players to choose from, including fan favourites like Domination, Search and Destroy, and of course Free-for-All.

Despite this, some notable modes did get tossed to the wayside for release like Demolition, a classic that a lot of the community wanted to see.

While no one expected every single Call of Duty mode to make an appearance, Capture the Flag's absence was a massive disappointment for some players.

Well, Sledgehammer Games may have just hinted that CTF is coming to MW3, and it's sparked a huge amount of excitement.

Sledgehammer Games hints Capture the Flag is coming to MW3

Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user Eng11sh decided to ask the community what they would bring back from previous Call of Duty titles to make MW3 better.

Their suggestion was to reintroduce Capture the Flag, as it's always been such an iconic mode that players adore.

"Agreed with Capture the Flag, always enjoyed that mode and was hoping it would end up being in Ranked over control but I know that was a very slim hope."

Well, Sledgehammer couldn't help themselves and decided to drop a hint in the thread, simply posting the eyes emoji and nothing else. While not a direct confirmation, it does suggest that Capture the Flag will be making a return in a future update, which is incredible news.

When is Capture the Flag releasing in MW3?

At the moment, it's impossible to know when Capture the Flag will return but Slefgehammer's decision to drop a hint about it now is telling.

It's unlikely they would tease fans unless it was coming relatively soon, so it's very possible it's part of the major Season 3 patch.

This would be a top-tier addition and a throwback for those who love the rush of sprinting around the map with a flag in hand. Let's hope this hint comes to fruition and CTF makes a glorious return very soon.
