The idea that Call of Duty would be joining the amped-up cosmetic train was of no surprise, especially as it joined the battle royale world with Warzone.
The game's store has run the franchise into plenty of controversy, with many claiming that the appearance of Nicki Minaj and now Paul Muad'Dib from Dune are breaching their immersion. Even the skins that don't reflect recognisable figures are creating claims of pay-to-win cosmetics.
Now, the Call of Duty store is running into more drama as one skin is freaking players all the way out. We've previously had skins for Ghostface and Lilith, but now, the Bad Biker Operator is a real horror show.
Call of Duty skin is too 'creepy'
I was going to buy it until I saw the eyes, now I can't unsee it...

Yeah, we're not into that either. A new skin has appeared on Call of Duty's in-game shop, and fans thought that it was fairly standard stuff. That's until one player pointed out on Reddit that underneath the motorcycle gear and helmet are two bulging eyes, poking out of the darkness and entirely disembodied.
"I was going to buy it until I saw the eyes, now I can't unsee it…" reads the caption of the post, and fans have rallied to agree - upon closer inspection into the helmet, you can clearly see "only eyes in a dark void...no face, no eyelids, just floating eyeballs."
It's a blunder that you'd think someone in Call of Duty's quality control would take note of, but the freaky skin has already made it to the shop - and players are in two minds about it.
Call of Duty fans react to horrifying skin
Pushing against the grain, one user commented, "Now I kind of want it for the reason you don't." Another said, "Honestly wouldn't even have thought of buying this. But then I saw the eyes. Imagine holding an angle with a sniper and suddenly this absolute atrocity of a face pops up."
It seems that fans reckon they can use the horrible skin for some scare tactics, and they might be right. If anything can combat whatever new pay-to-win skin appears, it's a horror stripped right out of Beetlejuice.
