As we prepare to enter the Christmas Gulag of empty bank accounts and ballooning waistlines, it's that time of year when the high streets are full, and you have to get in a virtual queue to access an online store. It can mean only one thing... Black Friday is here.

With promises of massive discounts and cut-price deals assaulting us like a horde of Treyarch zombies, at least there are some genuine bargains to be found out there. We've only just shelled out for Sledgehammer Games' Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but if we'd waited a little longer, we could've nabbed a Black Friday deal.

Modern Warfare 3 cuts its price for Black Friday

We've got to admit that Activision is pretty savvy. Every year, we shell out on the latest Call of Duty just before Christmas, it climbs to the top of the charts, lands in the Black Friday sales, and is everywhere again for December 25. Despite a dip in MW3's sales, it's still on many fans' lists for Santa.

If the middling reviews have put you off paying full price for Task Force 141's latest adventure, MW3 is already slashing its prices. Various sites have various deals, but you'd better be quick because they're selling out fast. Here's what we've found so far.

If you're in the US, you can get a PS5 copy of Modern Warfare 3 from Amazon for $60, down from $69.99. There's a similar deal in the UK, with it being reduced from £69.99 to £58.89. Xbox owners aren't being locked out in the cold, with Amazon UK offering the Xbox Series X version for £58.99 - also down from £69.99.

There have been plenty of Black Friday bundles for those who want to splash the cash and put a console under their tree as well, although we can currently only find the Xbox Series X + Modern Warfare bundle. Still, with it being slashed from £549.98 to £417.89, it's one hell of a saving.

Modern Warfare 3 is in an unusual place

While you might think nothing can stop the might of the CoDverse, Modern Warfare 3 has found itself in an unusual place. Debuting to some average reviews, series regulars quickly turned on the title and branded it the "worst" Call of Duty of all time.

Alongside the usual glitches and bugs, the campaign was particularly pulled apart. Sledgehammer has denied swirling rumours it pulled together MW3 together in just 16 months. Still, the developer has said it's impressed by the supposedly "great" feedback - leaving critics stumped.

Something is working, as MW3 has reportedly broken engagement for the franchise, showing there's still plenty of life left in CoD. As the latest outing is already hit with sales, some of you are looking ahead to Treyarch's Call of Duty 2024 and what's (hopefully) a return to form. In the meantime, make the most of those MW3 savings.
