It really is the most wonderful time of the year, especially now that Modern Warfare 3 has been opened up to the public and Zombies has been free to play for the weekend.
We're able to accept Christmas noobs with open arms again now that those Warzone-only weapon grinders have decided to check out Rust and Highrise through the Modern Warfare 3 free trial.
Now, these noobs look like they're sticking around for longer, as the once MW3 haters have now been converted into adoring new fans.
Modern Warfare 3 free trial convinces haters that the game is great
Modern Warfare 3 might have been given the lowest rating out of any Call of Duty in history, but its multiplayer has been commendable so far, being praised for adapting to what the community wants and with a quickly changing meta.
So after a free trial, a bunch of Call of Duty fans who previously slated the game have now decided that it's worth the purchase after all.
Taking to one of many Reddit threads covering a similar title, one player said, "I have a confession. After absolutely s**tting on MW3 ever since it was announced and swearing I'd never buy that overpriced DLC unless it was $30, I have downloaded the free-to-play and it is actually fun and definitely has a different feel than MW2."
"While the sale is still active I will be going against everything I said and purchasing said overpriced DLC. Perhaps I have treated you too harshly," they added.
MW3 haters have been begrudgingly converted

The above sentiment was also echoed in other threads, such as one titled, "I just bought it after the free trial." This thread cussed out Activision for finally making such a good game amid the controversial double-back on having two-year CoDs.
They added, "I loved MW2 2009 and this is the closest I’ve felt to getting back to that game! I just love these maps. Damn you Activision take my 48 dollars."
Combined with some of the flash sales, this free trial appears to have been a marketing campaign sent from the heavens for Activision, but I guess it deserves its followers for creating a solid multiplayer experience this year.
