The full version of Modern Warfare 3 is set to include 16 maps from the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2 game.

Beta players have only got access to a few of these classic maps, and are already sick of one of them.

MW3 beta players are already bored of Rust

Modern Warfare 3 is set to release on 10 November, and is currently open to beta testing across all platforms.

A limited selection of maps are available to play, including classics from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) like Favela, Estate, Skidrow, Highrise and Rust.

While these maps may be new for players who aren’t familiar with the franchise, some beta testers are already very knowledgeable about these maps, which has caused players to have rather divided opinions on the matter.

Players have mixed opinions about the classic MW2 map

On 12 October, Twitter user TheMW2Ghost sparked a conversation about the map when they tweeted: “Stop voting for Rust in MWIII”

While some players are firmly against the Rust map, others are still fans of it.

“ALWAYS VOTE RUST!!!” wrote one commenter, while another simply said “No.”

Similarly, one player commented: “Rust is the only map you should vote for until terminal comes out.”

A lot of the contempt surrounding the classic map comes from its small size with close spawn points that have been known to induce cycles of endless spawn-killing. It is not uncommon to find videos of people rage-quitting for this reason online.
