The ALGS hacking incident back in March was a major shock for the Apex Legends community, with infamous cheater Destroyer2009 granting multiple pros aimbot in the middle of a competitive game.

One of those affected was TSM's IGL Philip "ImperialHal" Dosen, and while it's now been cleared that none of the pro players were responsible, his original account has remained banned while Respawn investigates.

It's been suspended for so long that the CEO has already accepted that his old account will most likely never be returned to him. While Hal may never get access to his OG account, Destroyer2009 has managed to get hold of it and even showed up in the Firing Range on a stream.

ALGS hacker has access to ImperialHal's Apex Legends account

While warming up for Apex Legends Ranked on May 8 in the Firing Range, ImperialHal had an unexpected visit from Destroyer2009, who was logged onto his OG account. The account itself is meant to be suspended while Respawn investigates it, and to Hal's knowledge, no one should be able to sign into it.

That clearly isn't true, though. This was just another demonstration of how many hacking tools Destroyer has access to. At first, Hal wasn't sure whether it was actually his account, but Destroyer quickly joined his lobby in the menus to showcase his banner, icon, and stats.

According to the TSM IGL, he even spoke to a person from EA at the recent Split 1 Playoffs who assured him they were still checking the account. so that was the reason it hadn't been returned to him. "Wait this is my account, how is he on my account? The cheater has access to my account before I do."

The most baffling aspect of all of this is that the cheater who crashed the ALGS and got Hal's OG account banned is now parading around Apex on it. It's a mystery how Destroyer got access to the details, especially considering this account is meant to be locked down by Respawn.

While Season 21 did improve the anti-cheat system, situations like this are concerning, given Destroyer's free reign over the game.

Let's hope Respawn can get control over the situation and return the account to Hal, as it can't be a good feeling to see a cheater running around on it with no consequences.
