While Modern Warfare 3 may have arrived with new features and changes, one thing has certainly stayed the same - players still absolutely love cosmetics.
Operator skins have become fundamental to the Call of Duty experience, with Activision hosting crossovers with Dune, The Boys, and even fast-food chains like Burger King.
Unfortunately, if you want a top-tier skin, you'll usually need to fork out real money for some CoD points so you can buy a premium bundle in the store.
Well, MW3 Zombies has flipped the script on that trend, offering one of the best-looking skins in years for free, but only if you're willing to grind.
Bone Collector skin takes serious grind in MW3 Zombies
Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user Guar2 showcased The Bone Collector Operator skin for Ripper that can be obtained for free in MW3 Zombies. In order to unlock the cosmetic, players need to complete every single Operation Deadbolt mission available in Acts 1, 2, and 3.
Keep in mind, this is not a short process, so prepare for a serious grind. Some of the community are reporting it can take up to 25 hours of gameplay to complete the entire Zombies mission list.
It's worth noting that the process will likely be streamlined in the coming weeks once players have figured out efficient methods. So, it may be worth waiting until then if you're not desperate to unlock it straight away.
MW3 fans think Bone Collector skin is "too good" to be free
There's no denying that The Bone Collector looks amazing, especially when compared to previous free skins from the past. A lot of the community are shocked that this has been included as a reward, joking that someone "at the office screwed up" at Activision.
The piercing red eyes and rotting facial features truly make this a terrifying cosmetic and will entice countless fans to complete the grind. "This is way too good to be a free skin," said one user, with another claiming, "They’re actually giving good operator rewards this time."
So, if taking down undead hordes is a hobby you enjoy, this reward could be a solid goal to aim for. The skin looks absolutely incredible, and it's likely to remain quite rare with the long checklist of requirements that are needed to obtain it.
