The leak that the ALGS has plans to remove the Dropship from Apex Legends competitive play has divided the community since the news surfaced.

While the reason behind the changes makes sense for some from an RNG perspective, others believe it removes a core part of the Apex experience and excitement that comes with various flight paths.

With the organisers planning on introducing the alterations in the Split 2 Regular Season of Year 4, there's still time for the idea to be adjusted or cancelled completely.

For TSM's Philip "ImperialHal" Dosen, that would be the ideal scenario, as the CEO believes the removal of the Dropship is "dumb."

ImperialHal hates planned Dropship changes coming to Apex Legends competitive

As showcased by Zipp, during a recent stream ImperialHal was asked his opinion on the potential Dropship changes coming to the ALGS.

The TSM IGL didn't hold back as usual, flaming the potential adjustments as "dumb" and claiming anyone who supported them during the playtest was "brain damaged".

For him, the current system is far superior and the idea of being forced to land at a POI with poor loot or a location that's in a bad position for rotations is a negative change.

He claims some teams likely supported the Dropship removal as they hate the RNG of the flight path, but for him, that's not enough reason to justify such a drastic adjustment.

From Respawn and the ALGS's perspective, the proposed Dropship removal will result in a more varied list of landing locations for each team and take away the RNG that comes with the flight path.

Not only that, this shift will force teams to learn more POIs which in its opinion, will result in a better viewing experience overall.

Hal doesn't agree but ultimately, he's only one pro in a massive pool of competitors. Whether these alterations will be implemented will come down to the community's reaction and what the other pro players think behind the scenes.
