It's no secret that aim assist is a hot topic in the Apex Legends community and very few pros have been more vocal about it than Philip "ImperialHal" Dosen.
The TSM IGL made the switch to controller a while ago but recently decided to test out some MnK on stream to see if it was still an input he could enjoy.
Well, the experiment resulted in ImperialHal revealing that he would quit Apex Legends if he were forced to use MnK.
That is unless Respawn "nerfed aim assist hard," which is yet to happen despite countless calls from the community.
ImperialHal explains why he would never return to MnK
After playing around "8 hours" of MnK following a hiatus from the input for 2 years, ImperialHal has concluded he "would have quit this game a long time ago" if he never swapped to controller.
In his opinion, the power difference between controller and MnK is "night and day" due to the overwhelming advantage that aim assist provides. Hal also took the time to make it clear how much "respect" he has for competitive MnK players who compete at the highest level because he "wouldn't be able to."
Not only that, the TSM pro argued that if given the choice, any Apex fan should "play controller" if you want to give yourself the best chance of racking up wins.
While Hal did say that he would consider an MnK return if Respawn "nerfed aim assist hard," he also revealed that he doesn't think there's a way to balance the two inputs properly.
Are aim assist nerfs coming in Apex Legends?
Respawn has confirmed that aim assist changes will be coming at some point in the future but for now, no specific date has been revealed.
While the devs have been testing out different ways to balance controllers, they've made it clear that they don't want to rush adjustments out the door given how much of an impact this would have on gameplay.
Given how long cross-progression took, aim assist balancing may take a while, let's just hope they knock it out of the park when it finally arrives.
