Since her release back in Season 7, Horizon has been an immensely popular character in Apex Legends that has always had a foothold in the meta.

Her satisfying Passive, powerful Tactical, and heavy crowd control Ultimate mean she's an asset to any squad and can cause major disruption in skirmishes.

This has also meant the Gravitational Manipulator has been a staple pick in competitive, with TSM star Philip "ImperialHal" Dosen being one of her biggest fans.

Unfortunately, the CEO recently had a look at Horizon's Legend Upgrades coming in Season 20, and he's convinced she's going to be "dead" in the new meta.

ImperialHal thinks Horizon's time in the Apex Legends meta is over

Legend Upgrades are the blockbuster addition in Season 20, and certain characters have been gifted some unbelievably strong augments to choose from during a match.

While the community won't get to test them until February 13, when the patch goes live, Legends like Fuse, Life, Rampart, and Bangalore seem to have some of the strongest upgrades on paper.

During a recent stream, ImperialHal decided to check out Horizon's upgrades, which include seeing ordinances through walls, ammo in death boxes, Tactical cooldown reduction, or Ultimate cooldown reduction.

Hal immediately labelled these choices as "dogs**t" and declared that Horizon would likely be "dead" in the Season 20 pro meta. This is simply due to the fact that so many other Legends have stronger options that offer so much more in the competitive environment.

What is Horizon's current pick rate in Apex Legends?

At the moment, Horizon has a 7.4% pick rate at the end of Season 19, putting her fifth in the overall rankings.

Sitting behind Octane, Pathfinder, Wraith, and Conduit, it'll be interesting to see how the charts shake up when the Breakout patch finally goes live.

For Hal, the Legend Upgrades may spell the end for Horizon in pro, but that doesn't mean she won't be strong in pubs and Ranked still.

Only time will tell, but rest assured, the CEO is unlikely to be playing much of the Gravtional Manipulator from this point onwards.
