A lot of players have already toppled the seemingly endless Lands Between. It seems like an impossible task, but many have beaten Elden Ring, and are waiting for more content to keep them coming back. Hundreds of hours in, the game is over for them - and blimey, have they worked for it.

The fan cry for an Elden Ring DLC is widespread, with players hoping that FromSoftware will extend its world and narrative, but so far, there has been no word from the team of devs that such plans exist. Thankfully, some modders are taking matters into their own hands.

What Is Elden Ring: The Convergence?

A huge mod is in the works for Elden Ring, and it has been dubbed an unofficial expansion to the original game. A little different to how the Elden Ring Randomizer is like playing a whole new game, Elden Ring: The Convergence gives us a brand-new story to conquer.

Elden Ring: The Convergence is a mod on the way from the same creators of the hugely popular Dark Souls 3: Convergence mod. You might remember it was a huge expansion to another FromSoftware legend that may as well have been official. The Convergence mods make tweaks to the base game and introduces a wealth of new content to hack your way through.

As for Elden Ring, the news was revealed by the team's Twitter page and announced that "the Convergence is nigh!" Development on the mod has started, and even if it isn't from the mind of Hidetaka Miyazaki, it looks like more Elden Ring is on the way... official or not.

What's Happening With Elden Ring Updates?

There's not an awful lot to be said about the content that has come to Elden Ring since launch, given that everything was pretty much there in the package - but a new quality-of-life feature appeared in the latest update. The new patch bringing the game to 1.05 finally gives players on PC the option to actually return to their desktop, which was an option that was bizarrely missing from the game at launch.

Even though FromSoft has been quiet about any new content being confirmed for the game, intrepid Tarnisheds have already broken into the colosseums for a hint of a possible DLC arc. In the meantime, at least we've got The Convergence on the way. Finally, a new reason to return to Elden Ring beyond just battering baddies for the thrill of it.
