Inflation is a b***h. The cost of living crisis is ripping through households and slowly tearing into the gaming industry too, and it's us gamers who are feeling the force of it.
For Call of Duty fans, the expenditure is at an all-time high, with Modern Warfare 3 starting up the crossovers again after a hectic year of collabs in MW2, and the first price jack has been spotted.
The Call of Duty League Team Packs are here, and they're more expensive than ever.
Call of Duty League Team Packs arrive in Modern Warfare 3

A week ahead of Modern Warfare 3 Ranked, the game mode which replicates the professional leagues, the CDL Team Packs have arrived.
Each pack contains Franchise-based branding, including Operator skins, Charms, Stickers, Vinyls, and Weapon Camos, The likes of OpTic Texas and Atlanta FaZe will be returning staples, while new brands like Miami Heretics and Charlotte Royal Ravens will both be looking to get their first wave of fan representation in-game.
But this year the packs will cost $13 each, a record high, and fans aren't best pleased.
Call of Duty League Team Packs called out for expensive increase
Since Modern Warfare 2019, when the franchised league began, the packs have gone up 30% in price, having once been a flat $10, and now they're up to $13.
"They’re slowly upping the price on these too huh," noticed one fan.
Another added, "Remember... From Free to $4.99 to $9.99 to $11.99. Today's Call of Duty players like to get milked in every way possible."
Popular journalist and content creator Arran "TacticalRab" Francis also took a stab at the developers for this increase, reminiscing over the $5 packs from Black Ops 4.
This is all quite the epitome of Call of Duty skins as a whole. Who can remember that bacon wrap from Black Ops 2, or Cherry Blossom, both of which cost less than a dollar?
