Battlefield Reveal Announced For June 9
Finally, after leaks and teases galore from industry insiders, we finally have the first word on the reveal of the next Battlefield title. Fans have been clamouring for new details, and we finally know when we’ll get our first look.
In a teaser video posted to the official Battlefield Twitter page, the Battlefield logo appears and cites when we’ll finally get the ‘#Battlefield Reveal’ - June 9, 7AM PDT / 4PM CEST.
It seems as though the title will simply be BATTLEFIELD which is in keeping with some of the leaks we’ve seen of the game, especially of notorious leaker Tom Henderson. But to see any more details of the game, we’ll just have to wait until the 9th.
What Do We Know So Far?
Last month, the official Battlefield Twitter account shared a logo and promised a look at the game "soon". Followed by a second tweet that added, "Words that rhyme with Soon: June, Boom". Well, they were true to their word by dropping the news on us today (June 1). The game is still due for this year, but it looks as though we'll find out more on June 9.
Previous reports have stated that the next Battlefield (or Battlefield 6, as it's typically known) could be a next-gen release, completely bypassing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in favour of PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. If this is the case, it's a major step for the franchise and would usher in a new era of the Battlefield name. Added to this, there are still hopes EA will cash in on the battle royale hype and include the fan-favourite mode in the next game.
What Is The Plot Of Battlefield 6?
Trusted leaker Tom Henderson is known for his skills scooping the likes of CoD, but this time, he's got the inside track on Battlefield 6. According to Henderson, the main story of Battlefield 6 focuses on conflict between the USA and Russia. Apparently, your character is a special operative from other "fallen nations", with Henderson also claiming "all nations are playable in some capacity". By the sounds of it, Japan will feature in some form but might not be playable - suggesting Russia has invaded the island. Henderson said the trailer will take place at the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan.
