As the dust settles from the three-way inter integration between Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare, and Warzone, players have begun to grow tiresome of the overpowering DMR meta and the tedious multiplayer experience that offers few rewards.

One piece missing from the puzzle is ranked play, a playlist where players can push their multiplayer skills to the limit and sweat it out against players of the same ability. Treyarch mastered the ranked playlist in Black Ops 2 with League Play, and it appears the developers are dipping into their archive bag and bringing it back. Finally.

Esteemed Call of Duty leaker, Tom Henderson, has revealed that League Play is scheduled to land in Black Ops Cold War in "Q1 of 2021" (between January and March).

In a video surrounding Sledgehammer Gaming being rumoured to make Call of Duty 2021, Henderson also let onto some information surrounding League Play. He said "League play is scheduled for this quarter. So between now and March. We could get it in Season 2, could even be halfway through Season 2. Obviously if not then it will be Season 3. But I was told that League Play is for Q1 of 2021".

Henderson swayed from revealing any specific dates although Season 1 is set to conclude on February 24, making it likely that the long-awaited ranked playlist will land then.

Ranked playlists have been dominant in Call of Duty since Black Ops 2, although Modern Warfare switched it up with their CDL playlist, much to the dismay of the loyal competitive player base.
