Takeovers in Apex Legends are events that put a spin on the typical gameplay format, altering standard Battle Royale for a set number of weeks.

In the past, these have been popular with the community, but that no longer appears to be the case. A lot of fans just want to play normal pubs and Takeovers prevent them from doing that.

The Hunt event that arrived with the Inner Beast Collection Event was the final straw for a lot of players, who slammed the "miserable" UAV mechanic that in their eyes, punished solo competitors. This led to fans calling on Respawn to make Takeovers LTMs in future.

Well, the devs have taken action immediately on the feedback and done exactly that, sparking a massive amount of praise.

The backlash towards The Hunt Takeover started almost immediately after the event began, but it was a mystery as to whether the devs were going to respond to the feedback.

Well, taking to Twitter on March 12, Respawn revealed that The Hunt had been shifted from a "Takeover to a Limited Time Mode," delivering exactly what the community were asking for.

While amazing news, it was unexpectedly fast, and showcased just how much the devs are keeping an eye on fan opinion across social media. This sparked a massive amount of praise, with players making it clear how much they appreciate the communication and gameplay shifts based on feedback.

"It's like one of the fans broke into the headquarters and took over, W changes lately," said one user, with another claiming "Apex dropping W changes and listening to the community.... this is HUGE."

This decision to shift a Takeover to an LTM is massive for the future of Apex, as it opens up the possibility for all Takeovers to be Limited Time Modes.

Access to standard pubs is something the community wants, so it would be strange if Respawn decided to restrict them again in a future event.

While this change may only be for The Hunt, Respawn should definitely consider keeping Takeovers separate from now on, or they risk igniting anger in the playerbase once again.
