As one of the most recognisable figures in Apex Legends and the competitive scene, Philip 'ImperialHal' has a huge following who all tune in to watch his streams on Twitch.
While the majority just sit back and enjoy the top-tier gameplay, there are a select few who want to cause trouble and potentially put him in danger by calling the cops.
This is called swatting and it involves making a false phone call to emergency services and reporting a serious crime, sending the officers to the streamer's address.
Unfortunately, Hal has been swatted in the past and on a recent stream, he found out it had happened again at his Florida family home.
ImperialHal finds out he's been swatted mid-stream
During a recent stream, Hal revealed to his viewers that someone once again swatted his house, but this time his family home down in Florida.
Currently, the TSM pro is in Texas, so he wasn't there when the swatting occurred. However, he received a Facetime call from his parents who had to show the cops that he wasn't there to prove the report was fraudulent.
"You know someone just tried to swat my house down in Florida? Even though I'm not even there... the cop wanted to like to check that I'm actually in Texas so my dad showed me a Facetime of the cop."
While Hal remained extremely calm about the situation and didn't get frustrated, he did mention that anyone who would choose to swat someone must be a "hole-dweller."
Valorant pro s0m also swatted on the same day as ImperialHal
Hal wasn't the only streamer to get swatted that day, with VALORANT professional Sam "s0m" Oh being interrupted by cops live on Twitch. The officers turned up at 6:30 AM and woke up his entire family, putting them all in danger.
Describing the situation as "ridiculous" and calling out the swatter as a "horrible person," s0m made it clear that "swatting is not a joke and puts people's lives at risk."
This awful situation shouldn't happen to any streamer and given there have been tragic fatalities in the past, it's always going to be a stressful and scary experience for everyone involved.
