Out of all the Apex Legends characters recently released, it's safe to say Conduit has been the most successful from a popularity point of view.
While Ballistic, Catalyst, and Newcastle have all fallen into obscurity with the general playerbase, the Shield Healer has thrived at the top of the rankings. This comes down to her unbelievably useful kit that features an ability capable of regenerating shields for Conduit's allies.
Well, some Apex fans are growing tired of this Tactical and think the "wall hack heals" are too overpowered. As a result, they've called on the devs to take action.
Apex Legends fan slam Conduit's "zero penalty" wall hack heals
Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, user Lonewolfali decided to argue that Conduit's Tactical shield regen needs to be nerfed. In their opinion, the "wallhack" heal shouldn't work on allies if they're not in her line of sight.
In its current state, you can burn through an enemy's shield, just for them to take cover and get them back in an instant from a Conduit who is nowhere near the skirmish. This is not an isolated opinion, with countless competitors growing tired of the Shield Healer's overturned kit.
"Oh boy I love losing high-ranked games because my opponents keep getting healed through walls, that Character is so f**king dumb," said one user, with another arguing, "They need to lower the range on the ability and make it that you cannot use the ability on your teammate if you do not have a line of sight of them."
It's clear players believe Conduit should have some sort of penalty or skill check with her shield healing, as at the moment, it's just a simple button press.
How popular is Conduit in Apex Legends?
Currently, according to Apex Legends Status, Conduit has a 6% pick rate which puts her in eighth in the overall rankings.
So, while some players deem her OP, her pick rate isn't sitting anywhere out of the ordinary. This may be a reason why the devs opt to leave her kit alone and not roll out any nerfs just yet.
Community suggestions include reducing her shield healing if an enemy is out of sight, or completely removing it altogether if they're not in her eye line. These changes may be a little hefty in the eyes of Respawn, but we'll have to wait and see.
