No matter how many balance patches Respawn Entertainment rolls out for Apex Legends, there's always one weapon that stands out as the strongest in a specific meta.

This is usually the gun the majority of players hunt down in their games to give themselves the best chance of winning. However, when a weapon remains too strong for too long, the community will begin to complain. That's exactly what started to happen in Season 17.

For a lot of competitors, the 'OP' Nemesis AR needs to be nerfed as soon as possible, as it deals too much damage and is far too easy to use.

Apex Legends players call for 'broken' Nemesis to be nerfed

Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, user MANUU__20 created a thread on the Nemesis, claiming the 'OP' AR needs to be nerfed as it's outright 'broken' in the current meta.

Describing it as an 'abomination of a gun', they believe the Nemesis "is an SMG, an assault rifle and pretty much a sniper all in one," as it can dominate foes at any range.

On the whole, the community members agreed with MANUU__20, arguing "Nemesis/r99 is the only loadout you need right now" and that "the gun is disgusting" to face in a gunfight, as it feels unfair.

Finally, a lot of players just feel confused about why Respawn hasn't balanced the gun already, claiming they "don't understand why [the devs] didn't change the gun seeing how good it is."

How could Respawn nerf the Nemesis in Apex Legends?

During the discussion, some users had a set of suggestions on how to effectively nerf the Nemesis in Apex Legends, with one suggesting that "the fire rate on the gun should only be increased if you can hit your shots on a target."

Another Apex fan argued the gun should "require a turbocharger for the wind-up and knock the damage down a point or two."

Finally, some players just suggested the Nemesis should be tossed into the Care Package next season, as it means fewer competitors will get their hands on it.

For now, we'll just have to wait and see how the devs respond, but with so many complaints, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Nemesis was hit with a nerf in the near future.
