Apex Legends' playable characters are probably the game's greatest draw. The battle royale genre owes an awful lot to its movement system mostly borrowed from the Titanfall series, keeping the game incredibly fast-paced to set itself aside from similar games in the genre.

It's arguably Apex Legends' game's hero-shooter elements that keep fans coming back. But, it has been made clear that some legends are better than others (sorry Crypto, we wanted better for you). Pros have been wiping entire squads with a single hero.

Gibraltar Is Wiping Squads All By Himself

Pro Apex players are loving Gibraltar at the moment. They're making the most of one of the game's heaviest hitters and are using him to wipe entire squads off the map... all by himself.

One solo in particular, Albralelie, has put Gibby's Defensive Bombardment to great use, and has used his shield in a creative and elevated way.

Throwing the shield down on an elevated surface on the floor of a building, they're able to zip to the roof and find the top of their shield poking out of the ground. It offers some extra coverage for them to- completely wipe the enemy team.

Gibraltar's Door Block Is An Amazing Apex Strategy

Pro player Lou has put Gibby's dome shield to different use by using it in a new door blocking strategy. Here, they use the shield just outside of a door to trap a player inside a building - unable to kick down the door in order to escape. It's a hilariously smart trap to lay, and one that proves the versatility of Gibraltar.

His pick rate might not be as stratospheric as that of Wraith or Octane, but he's an absolute powerhouse and is very much in need of some long-overdue respect. Gibraltar is a great pick, even though the stats don't reflect it - and who knows, maybe the next season could be Gibby's time to shine?
