Apex Legends: Mobile has been a long time coming. Battle royale games are naturally a huge powerhouse in the gaming industry, and their transition to mobile is welcome to every kind of player - no matter how much is changed in the process.

This new adaptation of Apex is fascinating, adopting a third-person view for the first time in the game's history and drastically changing the way it feels to play. Apex Legends: Mobile could pay off for Respawn Entertainment massively when it finally launches worldwide on May 17.

Apex Legends Teases New Fighter

As hype continues and Apex Legends keeps sharing new insights into the title, there's a conversation about what else could be coming to the game as a brand-new addition - and fans think that Respawn has teased a new fighter.

Even though we're yet to see Newcastle make his bold arrival in the mainline Apex Legends, the latest Apex Legends: Mobile teaser has hinted at another Legend. A new video has been shared of a character's silhouette, indicating that they're a "new challenger climbing the ranks." It suggests that whoever this mystery assailant is, they could yet be playable in Apex Legends: Mobile

Gamers have theorised that this character could be Scryer - a new Recon character that was revealed in a recent leak. It remains to be seen if this really is the same character, but that's probably not the most compelling thing about this new addition.

New Apex Legends Character Could Be Mobile Exclusive

As hinted by Respawn Entertainment itself, Apex Legends: Mobile could be getting some mobile-first Legends, with the opportunity for them to cross into the main game to come later. Yet, there's no promise that they will. This new legend is expected to be the first of these characters, with their future into mainline Apex uncertain.

It's safe to say that they will at least be a mobile exclusive for a little while. What's clear is that Respawn is putting a lot of pressure on the mobile version of Apex Legends to work, if they're willing to spend legends on it alone - but we'll just have to wait to see if the gamble pays off. Fingers crossed, eh?
