Adding Garfield To Stray Is The Ultimate Mod For Feline Fans

Garfield, the beloved cartoon cat created by Jim Davis in 1978, has long been a favourite character for fans of all ages.

Now, supports of the lovable feline can experience a whole new way to interact with their favourite character - thanks to a new mod for the popular video game Stray.

For those unfamiliar with Stray, it is an open-world adventure game that allows players to explore a beautifully detailed world set in a dystopian future as a cat. Players must explore the "Walled City 99" horizontally and vertically to find nooks and crannies to progress.

Having to solve all kinds of puzzles and find clues, Stray has to make sense of how the sentient robots inside the city got into their depressing pickle.

The Garfield mod, created by modder Chris Rubino, allows players to experience a less gloomy take on the role of the iconic orange cat in Stray.

Players can roam the game's open world as Garfield, completing quests and interacting with the environment in the same way they would as any other cat in the game.

How to install the Stray Garfield mod

Installing the mod is relatively straightforward. Here is a step-by-step guide:

1. Download the mod here
2. Navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stray\Hk_project\Content\Paks
3. Locate the file named "Hk_project-WindowsNoEditor_Garfield" and extract it to the paks folder.
4. Once the file has been extracted, place it in the paks folder.
5. You have now successfully installed the "Hk_project-WindowsNoEditor_Garfield" file into the paks folder.

Since Stray came out in July 2022, we've seen it become one of the most popular PlayStation exclusives of the year. When it landed on PC, it (obviously) wasn't long before modders got their paws on it and things got weird.

As well as a multiplayer mod to play with your pals, there was one that adds dogs, and even one that adds Spyro of the Spyro the Dragon games to your adventure.
