The Creature Keeper in The Sims 4 is an NPC within the Cottage Living expansion pack. His official name in the game is Michael Bell and as the Creature Keeper, he acts as a source of knowledge on how to collect and look after farm animals in Cottage Living. He will also reward you with animal clothing in return for completing errands. To learn more about the Creature Keeper, what items you can get from him, and where to find him in The Sims 4, read here.

Where can you find the Creature Keeper?

Even if you have auto-aging turned on and Michael Bell dies, a random NPC will fill his role as the Creature Keeper and occupy the same lot. The Creature Keeper lives in a small cottage within The Bramblewood in Henford-on-Bagley, the new world added with The Sims 4: Cottage Living expansion.

The Creature Keeper is a reclusive NPC, preferring the company of animals. As such, they will often wander around The Bramblewood around their home or can be found by clicking on their lot and choosing the 'Focus Camera on the Creature Keeper' option to find them.

The Creature Keeper's house can be difficult to find as it is nestled amongst the trees of the area. The easiest way to find it is by traveling to the Isle of Volpe Park. From the space your sim spawns in, pan the camera down southeast towards the central island featuring the hilltop ruins. From there, there is a stone bridge at the southern tip of the island, the Creature Keeper's house is beyond that bridge next to a pond and some wall ruins.

Once you click on the house and use the option to focus the camera on the Creature Keeper, you can click on them and queue up an interaction. After introducing yourself to the Creature Keeper, they will issue several errands for you to complete. In return for completing errands, you can earn Simoleons, produce, and unique animal clothing.

Once you've earned a piece of animal clothing from the Creature Keeper, you can place the item on one of your animals by simply clicking on the animal you wish to dress and clicking on the option to 'Dress (animal name) In...'. You can also remove clothing from an animal by clicking on them and navigating to the option to 'Take Clothes From (animal name)'. You can dress cows, llamas, foxes, chickens, and rabbits. Clothing is specific to the animal type and cannot be put onto different species.

You can also buy animal clothing directly from the Creature Keeper or commission him to make you animal clothing if you have Llama Wool in your inventory. The Creature Keeper's stock randomises daily so check back with him regularly to see your options.

If you have The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting pack installed and have Llama Wool in your inventory you can craft clothing yourself by using the knitting mechanic. Different types of clothing are unlocked depending on your knitting skill level. The first items available to craft from level one knitting are chicken outfits. To unlock the larger llama and cow designs you must increase your skill level to four onwards.
