The Warhammer 40K universe is essentially a tale of what life would be like if everything was the worst it could possibly be for everyone at all times - forever. From space-faring fascist empires run by a comatose god emperor, to warp demons that can doom entire worlds to an eternity in hell - there is certainly a lot going on in the mythos.

Is there a Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader release date?

Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader is confirmed to have a December 7 release date, meaning it will see out the year as one of the final major releases.

Up until the release date announcement in mid-September, there was no news on when the game would potentially come out, and most expected it to be an early 2024 title.

All Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader trailers

Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader has many trailers, with the first announcement trailer releasing in June 2022. This was mostly animated, featuring another Rogue Trader speaking about the goals of the organisation and their holy mission from the Emperor of Man himself to explore uncharted space.

After this, there were a few dev diaries before the next major trailer was released, which was the gameplay trailer that debuted in November 2022. This consisted entirely of gameplay scenes, showing off some different environments, combat, and the void ship you can explore the Koronus Expanse with. 

Many more trailers have been released in the lead-up to launch, such as the locations trailer, features trailer, freedom of choice trailer, companion trailer, and release date trailer. All of these showed off some new aspects or features of the game in some way.

Is there Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader gameplay?

Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader is an isometric CRPG with turn-based combat. Much like Owlcat Games' previous titles, it features a big focus on narrative and player choice, ranging from how you customise your character and companions, to the choices you make during quests and the main story.

In addition to the on-foot gameplay where you can explore with your party, there is also ship exploration and combat. You can use your personal Voidship to travel to different worlds and take part in skirmishes out in the expanse of space.

Progression and character creation are similar to other RPGs, as characters have a list of stats called Characteristics that can be improved when levelling up. There are also skills that provide unique options and choices, with each one being connected to a specific Characteristic.
