Warhammer Age of Sigmar Realms of Ruin is a real-time strategy game based on the popular tabletop game that is coming to PC and consoles very soon.

In Warhammer Age of Sigmar Realms of Ruin, players are given command of factions like the Stormcast Eternals and the Orruks in massive tactical battles.

While many games based on Warhammer have been made over the years, not as many have yet been made based on the more recent Age of Sigmar version of the tabletop game. So, here is everything we know so far about Warhammer Age of Sigmar Realms of Ruin.

The Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin release date is set for November 17, which was confirmed during Gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show.

In addition to the standard version, players can order the Ultimate and Deluxe Edition, and if you pre-order any of these versions, you can get three days early access, unlocking the game on November 14.

Warhammer AoS Realms of Ruin trailers

The announcement of the game came alongside the first trailer, which was shown during Warhammer Skulls 2023. In it, we see the forces of Sigmar, the Stormcast Eternals, facing off against the new and improved Orruks.

We see many of the units of both factions, which will be familiar to fans of the tabletop game. We also get an idea of the kind of gameplay we can expect, and some of the more cinematic aspects of the game.

The game's second trailer came during the 2023 PC Gaming Show in June. This featured a mix of cutscenes and gameplay, giving players a good look at the different units on the battlefield, combat between humans and orcs, and the types of objectives players will complete during matches.

The next trailer was the pre-order trailer, which revealed the game's release date and showed off far more gameplay, detailing a little more about the campaign mode, conquest mode, and playable factions.

The most recent trailer is the Game Overview trailer, which gives a more in-depth breakdown of the game. It also revealed the third faction in the game, the Nighthaunt.

Also revealed were Conquest mode, a single-player procedurally generated campaign mode, the map editor where players can create detailed battle maps, and unit customisation, which allows players to use the paints from the Warhammer line to customise their units.

Warhammer Aos Realms of Ruin is a real-time strategy game set in the Age of Sigmar fantasy universe. The scale of the game is not massive like a grand strategy game, it is closer to something like Halo Wars or Starcraft.

There is a story-driven campaign that lets players choose one of the four available factions, along with a conquest mode where you can choose nodes on a map to take part in battles and slowly take over the realm. Finally, there is a multiplayer mode for those looking to battle it out online against other players.

During battles, you can construct your army from a wide list of units ranging from fast-moving flyers, to lumbering monsters, and mystical wizards. There is also a dynamic in-battle tech tree you can use to upgrade your forces and counter the enemy on the fly.

For fans of the tabletop war game, you'll also recognise that all of the units in the game are exact replicas of their tabletop counterparts, brought to life with modern animation and high-quality visuals.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar Realms of Ruin is coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as consoles. Thankfully, Warhammer and RTS fans on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X will also get to play the game.

However, there has been no mention of the game appearing on older consoles such as the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, so fans on those consoles may need to upgrade to take part.
