Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown features a variety of abilities, also known as time powers, to choose from, and one of them allows you to double jump. This can be incredibly helpful during enemy battles and boss fights, as it allows you to dodge powerful attacks.

Moreover, you’ll need to use the double-jump ability to access certain areas of the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown world that you can’t reach with a single jump. However, the ability isn’t available right from the beginning of the game, so you’ll have to unlock it first by defeating a powerful boss.

How to unlock the double jump ability

First of all, it’s important to note that the double jump ability is called Gravity Wings, and to unlock it, you’ll need to complete the fifth main quest, "The Darkest Of Souls."

The final part of this quest requires you to defeat Azhdaha, who is one of the toughest bosses in the game.

After finishing the Azhdaha boss fight, you’ll be rewarded with a Soma Tree Flower, a bunch of crystals, and four special arrows for the Guardians. However, you will still not be granted the ability just yet.

Your final task after defeating the boss is to summon four Celestial Guardians in the game. Once you summon the first one, head back to Azhdaha, and you’ll finally unlock Gravity Wings.

You’ll need to press the 'X button' on your controller to jump once and press it again to perform a double jump, and it's a great time power to stop a fall before reaching the ground.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Azhdaha boss fight explained

The Azhdaha boss fight is broken up into three different phases. During these phases, the snake monster will perform a variety of deadly attacks, including a poisonous bite, tail whip, laser attack, central projectiles, and more. Every attack requires you to perform a certain moveset to counter it.

In phase one, you have a red move, which is just a standard quick attack, as well as a quick tail sweep. So dodge those and return with some light damage. The next move involves slow-moving projectiles. The best way to get around this one is by alternating blocks with dodges.

In the second phase, you will get the opportunity to perform a vengeful parry. Leap over the tail sweep, and then parry in the air. Always try to position yourself in the middle of the arena because when she performs a breath attack, it'll create damaging crystals on the floor.

In the final phase, the boss performs a tail sweep and two quick bites. You'll have to leap in the air, perform an air dodge, and then once you hit the ground, dodge on the ground once again. As I said before, you really do want to position yourself somewhere in the middle because you will be shadow-shifting from the edges of the screen back into the middle two times. The fight ends with a dramatic animation that appears when you completely drain Azhdaha’s health.
