Towerborne was first revealed during an Xbox Games Showcase, and there are already a fair few details to unpack about the title, including a trailer and even a few details about the overall gameplay.

Towerborne is the latest outing from The Banner Saga developers Stoic. Due out in 2024, it's a brand-new action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world, where the majority of humanity finds itself seeking refuge in a large tower called The Belfry.

While details on the game are still sparse for now, the reveal trailer has given us a lot to look forward to. So, check out everything we know about Towerborne below.

What trailers are there for Towerborne so far?

Towerborne has debuted one trailer so far, the announcement trailer, which was shown during the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase.

It came in at just under two minutes, starting with a 30-second primer on the setting and general concept of the game, before diving into some gameplay.

Towerborne is an action-adventure game that supports up to four-player co-op. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where all of humanity's cities have fallen, causing everyone who remains to seek sanctuary in a tower called The Belfry.

You'll play as Ace, someone born anew from the spirit realm, giving you the skills to protect the people of The Belfry. Much of the gameplay loop involves you venturing out of the tower into the lands around to vanquish the monsters, before returning to turn in quests, reforge gear, and expand your abilities.

While the game is built around cooperative play, for those who have no one to play with (or prefer solo play), you'll be joined by Umbra companions - like Pawns from Dragon's Dogma - who are special AI adventurers with enhanced skills and unique abilities you can harness in battle.

Like Stoic's last few games, player choice is a big part of the experience, ranging from customisation options for your character and their gear to the danger level that you can set when adventuring, allowing you to get better gear at a much higher risk.

Stoic are also planning on supporting Towerborne after launch with an evolving map and seasonal content. This will continue the story of The Belfry with new enemies, regions, abilities, and lore.

What platforms will Towerborne be available on?

While we don't know if Towerborne is set to be an exclusive for Xbox, it has been confirmed to be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Steam store.

What's more, it will also be on Xbox Game Pass day one for console, PC, and cloud.

That's all for our breakdown of everything we know about Towerborne so far. As we learn more, we'll be sure to update you right here - so make sure to check back often!
