The release date for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 1 - including the Joker as a playable character - has been a longer wait than some might like, but all of the free DLC should be worth it for fans.

Along with this start to what's essentially a battle pass with no charge for the game, we'll also dive into what we know so far about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's second, third, and fourth seasons.

The Joker & Season 1 release date

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's Season 1 DLC, which includes the Joker as a playable character, has a release date of Thursday, March 28, 2024.

This was confirmed by developer Rocksteady Studios via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

As detailed in another post - which featured the roadmap below - and during Suicide Squad Insider Episode 3 back in January, Season 1 will also include the following features:

  • New boss fights including Green Lantern & Superman plus enemy variants
  • New playable environment - The Daily Cackle
  • New DC villain themed weapons & gear - inc. Bane & Scarecrow designs
  • New Riddler content
  • New activities & strongholds
  • Two episodes feautring Two-Face & Scarecrow

I'd agree with the majority of Suicide Squad's fans that getting Joker as a playable character is the definite highlight of Kill the Justice League's Season 1; that's despite being an Elseworld variant rather than the Arkhamverse's original Joker who was voiced by Mark Hamill.

Adding unique umbrella-based traversal and combat abilities with a new personality to mix into those of the base game's squad, the Joker will at least add a bit of freshness to those who'll be craving something new by March 28.

What we know about Seasons 2-4

Seasons 2 to 4 of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League haven't had many details revealed so far, but the aforementioned post states the following content will be added across the three remaining seasons:

  • Three playable characters (assumed to be one per season)
  • Three playable environments (assumed to be one per season)
  • Weapons
  • Themed gear sets
  • Activities
  • Mid-season updates

For now, we only have visual hints from the above image to go off. For example, the frozen environments shown in Season 2's visual teasing the arrival of Mr. Freeze.

Despite Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's financials falling short, Rocksteady's still committed to releasing all of its free seasonal DLC. Be that as it may, I'll be updating this guide right away as we hear more updates on the next seasons or if any of those plans change.
