The Pokemon GO Tour Poke Ball Prep Rally event is a precursor to the fast approaching Pokemon GO Tour: Johto, and it's happening to help trainers stock up on supplies for the big show. It will also feature the debut of Hisuian Electrode in Pokemon GO - the evolution to Hisuian Voltorb, introduced with the launch of Pokemon Legends Arceus - and there'll be some boosted spawns and research to go alongside it. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Pokemon GO Poke Ball Prep Rally event.

Pokemon GO Poke Ball Prep Rally: Dates and Times

This event is meant to help prepare players for Pokemon GO Tour: Johto, so it’ll run in the week leading up to the grand event on Saturday, February 26.

The Poke Ball Prep Rally runs from 10 a.m. local time on Friday, February 18, until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 25.

Hisuian Voltorb started spawning in Pokemon GO to celebrate the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but it couldn’t evolve. Now, as part of the Poke Ball Prep Rally, its evolution will finally debut.

Hisuian Electrode is a Grass/Electric-type, just like its preevolution. To obtain it, you’ll need 50 Voltorb candies. Simply use those 50 candies and evolve Hisuian Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode. Easy!

  • If you catch an Electrode with good stats, it can be a great team member in the GO Battle League’s Love Cup, which runs until the 21st. Check out our guide for more team recommendations for the Pokemon GO Love Cup

Some people love him, some people hate him, but it can’t be denied that the Ball Guy from Pokemon Sword & Shield left a lasting impact on the fandom. Pokemon GO is recognizing the character’s love for Poke Balls by adding some new avatar items in his image.

As part of the event, Ball Guy-themed avatar items will be available in the in-game shop.

We don’t know the prices or the names yet, but it appears that there will be a red collared polo, black shorts, and, of course, the iconic Ball Guy mascot head.
