Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits are new in MW3. These additions to Gunsmith are more impactful than any other sort of attachment in Modern Warfare 3.

This primer details how to get Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits in the latest Call of Duty title and all the Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits available in Gunsmith.

How to get Aftermarket Parts & Conversion Kits in MW3

Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits are only accessible after you reach the max level with select weapons in MW3. Upon reaching max level with an Aftermarket Parts-supported gun, you can complete a unique in-game challenge to unlock that weapon's Conversion Kit. Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits are the ultimate rewards for maxing out a weapon in MW3.

What are Aftermarket Parts & Conversion Kits?

Aftermarket Parts are one of MW3's new gameplay innovations. This system will be available to mess around with in Gunsmith during the MW3 beta and when MW3 officially launches on November 10, 2023.

Select weapons in MW3 will have access to Aftermarket Parts. Inside Aftermarket Parts, players can equip the chosen weapon with Conversion Kits. These Conversion Kits add new dimensions to the gun and make it feel entirely different. For example, the Full-Auto Carbine Conversion Kit remoulds the Renetti Handgun into a custom SMG.

With a Conversion Kit equipped, you can deck out the weapon with additional Aftermarket Parts, further customising the weapon and transforming how it functions in combat. However, while you'll gain access to new attachments, you'll lose the ability to use some previously available attachments.

Aftermarket Parts & Conversion Kits that we know about so far

At launch, MW3 will feature several Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits. Below are all the Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits confirmed for the release of MW3:

  • Bullpup Conversion Kit: Pulemyot LMG
    • How to unlock: Max the Pulemyot LMG and get 25 Kills while hip-firing or using Tac-Stance

The Bullpup Conversion Kit increases the Pulemyot LMG's mobility and handling, rate of fire, and recoil off the hip and allows for Tac-Stance. Furthermore, you can tack on other Aftermarket Parts like recoil pads fitted to the Stock and the Aftermarket Bullpup Barrel to boost the gun's accuracy, bullet velocity, and damage range.

  • Full-Auto Carbine Conversion Kit: Renetti Handgun
    • How to unlock: Max the Renetti Handgun and Get 30 Kills with five attachments equipped

The Full-Auto-Carbine Conversion Kit turns the burst-fire Renetti into a full-auto SMG. This Conversion Kit increases the gun's bullet velocity, range, and rate of fire but nerfs its mobility, handling, and recoil control. As a bonus, the Full-Auto-Carbine Conversion Kit allows the user to take advantage of Tactical Stance.

  • WSP Akimbo Brace Stocks Conversion Kit: WSP Swarm
    • How to unlock: Max the WSP Swarm and complete a weekly challenge in the preseason

The WSP Akimbo Brace Stocks Conversion Kit allows you to wield another WSP Swarm in an Akimbo Stance. You'll lose some damage range and mobility, but it's hard to beat two SMGs at point-blank range!

That's all the Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits that we know of so far. Having said that, we will update this guide when the rest of the Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits are revealed in the MW3 beta and the full release of MW3. More Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits will certainly get added post-release, too.

Change the way your favourite weapons function with Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits. Or, if you don't like how a base weapon feels, consider levelling it up anyway to see how it plays once it's equipped with some Aftermarket Parts. Either way, Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Kits ensure that the MW3 Gunsmith is more robust than ever.
