League of Legends' new Champion is Naafiri, the Hound of a Hundred Bites, and she certainly has some abilities and lore that any fans of the game will be interested in scoping out.
League of Legends has a wide variety of Champions, which come in all shapes and sizes, and this new entry might just shake up the meta. Naafiri is an assassin, designed with the intent of being fun and easy to learn for players who are new to the game.

Naafiri release date in League of Legends
Naafiri was previously confirmed to be joining the League of Legends roster as part of Patch 13.14, and she officially arrived on July 19, 2023.
What are Naafiri's abilities in League of Legends?
Click to enlargeAs you might expect, Naafiri has a kit full of intriguing abilities. A theme of the Champion is his unconventional use of the fire axiom to buff and heal her allies. Here are all of Naafiri's abilities:

Naafiri dashes forward and damages enemies in an area. She can then recall her Packmates and heal them. |
| R - The Call of the Pack |
Naafiri spawns additional Packmates and powers them all up. Naafiri gains bonus speed, vision, and a shield when she attacks a Champion. First Champion defeated while in Call of the Pack refreshes all effects of the ability. |

What is the background lore for Naafiri in League of Legends?
Click to enlargeNaafiri is a Darkin, a race of God-Warriors who were imprisoned within weapons after the Void War. Naafiri was imprisoned in a dagger, where she remained until a fateful encounter in the Shuriman desert.
A traveller in possession of her dagger was attacked by dune hounds while crossing the desert. During the attack, the man dropped the dagger, which was seized by the hounds. This allowed Naafiri to escape her prison and merge with the hounds to become their pack leader.
Now she takes the form of a hound covered in spikes, always surrounded by her loyal packmates.
