Rocket Racing's inaugural season is over, and it's time for Neon Rush. This new season of Fortnite's arcade racer is flush with fresh content for players to enjoy, as well as changes and fixes to improve the Rocket Racing formula.

With that, let's overview everything new in Neon Rush and what fans of the free-to-play racing mode can expect from it!

New tracks

The new season introduces five brand-new tracks to Rocket Racing. These tracks are all designed by Epic and, for the most part, fit the theme of Neon Rush:

  • Jackrabbit
    • Difficulty: Novice
    • Available in Ranked Racing at Bronze I
  • Tri-City
    • Difficulty: Novice
    • Available in Ranked Racing at Silver I
  • Slap Happy
    • Difficulty: Advanced
    • Available in Ranked Racing at Gold I
  • Conduit
    • Difficulty: Expert
    • Available in Ranked Racing at Platinum I
  • Delirium
    • Difficulty: Expert
    • Available in Ranked Racing at Diamond I

Furthermore, all Epic-made Racing tracks now feature leaderboards and are playable as Speed Run tracks.

Creator-made tracks

Thanks to Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), creators can now craft their very own Rocket Racing tracks. You can view creator-made tracks while browsing the available tracks. Alternatively, you can visit a specific creator-made track by inputting the proper Fortnite Island Code.

Publicised creator-made tracks are divided into five categories:

  • What’s Possible in UEFN
  • Community Speed Run: Top Tracks
  • Community Speed Run: New Tracks
  • Community Racing: Top Tracks
  • Community Racing: New Tracks

The Fortnite Team has a tutorial on how to start building your own Rocket Racing Islands, and there are Rocket Racing templates to make the job easier. You can't find creator-made racing tracks in Ranked Play, but Epic won't rule out the possibility of it happening in the future!

Rank reset

With a new season of Rocket Racing comes a rank reset. It wasn't all for nothing, though, because your starting rank in Neon Rush is determined by where you finished in Season Zero.

New quests & rewards

To help ring in the new season, Neon Rush will feature a set of Kickoff Quests and Ranked Quests! Completing the Kickoff Quests will net you the Aetherius Wheels in 13 different paint colours while progressing through the Ranked Quests will get you the Psypher Trail in multiple colours. Both series of quests are available all season long!

New car bodies & accessory cosmetics

While not free like the rewards from the Neon Rush Kickoff and Ranked Quests, the Item Shop during Neon Rush will contain brand-new car bodies and other Rocket Racing accessories to customise your cars.

If you have the Werewolf Car Body in Rocket League, you can now use it in Fortnite. If you don't already have the Werewolf Car Body, you can find it in the Item Shop inside the Werewolf Bundle, along with six Werewolf-exclusive Decals.

On April 11, 2024, the Fuse Starter Pack will enter the Item Shop, featuring the Fuse Car Body, five Fuse-exclusive Decals, and even a Skin called Matius! Additionally, you'll get the Fuse Quest Bundle, consisting of challenges you can complete for bonus rewards like paint colours and Decals for the Fuse and a style for the Matius Outfit.

Miscellaneous balance adjustments, improvements & bug fixes

Last but not least, Neon Rush includes a lengthy list of improvements, adjustments, and bug fixes for Rocket Racing. Highlights include balancing to progression in Ranked Play, changes to matchmaking in Ranked Racing, and a total reset of the Speed Run Leaderboards.

That wraps up our detailed overview of Fortnite's new season of Rocket Racing: Neon Rush. Neon Rush looks to be a major improvement on Season Zero, but you can check it out for yourself in-game on Fortnite now!

If Rocket Racing isn't your thing, the v29.20 Update still has a lot to offer! Check out our Fortnite homepage at GGRecon for more on all things Fortnite.
