Fortnite Unreal Editor: Release date and how to download

The Fortnite Unreal Editor (UEFN), also known as Creative 2.0, is going live Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Unreal Editor for Fortnite is a separate add-on for Fortnite available in the Epic Games Store. If you have Fortnite, you can download UEFN for free on your PC.

Fortnite Unreal Editor makes the original Creative client look basic. UEFN overhauls Fortnite Creative with a plethora of new features for creators to use and take advantage of.

While the Unreal Editor will work side-by-side with Fortnite’s existing Creative toolset, it is a separate application. Unreal Editor for Fortnite gives creators access to Unreal Engine 5's tools and workflows to design, develop, and publish games and experiences in Fortnite.

Overall, Creative 2.0 is a significant improvement on the preexisting Creative client.

Creators using Unreal Editor for Fortnite have access to a Content Library and Content Browser overflowing with custom assets, models, materials, SFX and VFX, music and sounds, and Sequencer and Control Rig. If you can't find what you're looking for in the Content Library and Content Browser, you can import your own!

If UI and HUD are important to you, you'll be happy to learn that Unreal Editor for Fortnite allows creators to design and implement their own custom UI and HUD into their experiences.

In addition, Unreal Editor for Fortnite features a terrain editor that will allow you to sculpt terrain to your liking.

One of the most interesting aspects of Creative 2.0 is the brand-new programming language designed specifically for Fortnite Unreal Editor, Verse. Creators that can master the Verse coding language will be able to take complete control of their game or experience.

You don't have to jump into Unreal Editor for Fortnite alone, either. Creative 2.0 features live editing where teams of creators can collaborate across PC and console in real-time.

Fortnite Unreal Editor is going to change Fortnite as we know it. The doors to Creative 2.0 open Wednesday, March 22, 2023, when Unreal Editor for Fortnite goes live on the Epic Games Store.
