Before it was possible to refund Skins and other cosmetics in Fortnite, accidental purchases were a common occurrence with no solution. But now, if you buy something in Fortnite by accident or it just wasn't what you expected, you have an opportunity to refund it and get your V-Bucks back. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to refund Skins and other cosmetics in Fortnite.

Have you been using a Skin for a couple of days, or even a couple of weeks, and now it doesn't have the same allure it did when you first saw it in the Item Shop? Well, you're in luck, because you can refund Fortnite Skins and other cosmetics and get your V-Bucks back!

To refund an item, you need a Return Ticket. Every account starts with three Return Tickets. If you use a Return Ticket and then go 365 days without requesting another refund, you will get a fresh Return Ticket. You may only hold three Return Tickets at any one time.

To request a refund for Skins and other cosmetics on Fortnite:

  1. Launch Fortnite and navigate to the Settings Menu and click "Support & Refunds"

  2. Next, click "Return or Cancel Purchase"

  3. Browse and find the item you want to return and select it on the list. Then, click "Use Return Ticket"

  4. A final confirmation screen will appear where you must verify that you indeed want to proceed and use a Return Ticket

If you decide to go through with the refund, a notification will pop up to let you know that the refund was successful and how many V-Bucks have been credited to your account.

After 30 days have passed, items are no longer eligible for refunds via Return Tickets.

Oftentimes, Fortnite players tend to use Return Tickets more for regrettable purchases, not accidental ones. If you truly purchase a Skin or cosmetic accidentally, you can refund it without wasting a Return Ticket!

If you decide you want to return an item within 24 hours of when you bought it, you can simply cancel the purchase. However, if you equip the item or use it in-game before cancelling, you will no longer be able to refund the purchase in this way.

After purchasing eligible items in the Item Shop, a button will appear directly on the item screen that gives you the option to cancel the purchase. Alternatively, you can also cancel purchases from the Return or Cancel Purchase screen, which you get to by clicking "Support & Refunds" under the Settings Menu.

Unlike Return Tickets, the Cancel Purchase feature can be used ad infinitum, but only once per item.

Additional Fortnite Refund Restrictions

While we have already touched on a few of the rules and regulations of the Refund and Cancel Purchase features, you should be aware that not all purchases are eligible for these features. You cannot return or cancel the following purchases:

  • Level Up Quest Packs
  • Gifts
  • Real-money Purchases
  • Bundles
  • Battle Pass
  • Battle Pass Tiers
  • Loot Llamas (Save the World)
  • Event and Weekly Items (Save the World)
  • Fortnite Crew Subscriptions

With that, you have everything you need to refund those undesirable Fortnite Skins and cosmetics and get your V-Bucks back!
