A new online game like Exoprimal will always get players wondering if they'll need to have PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live before they can dive into it - and we've got everything you need to know right here.

Exoprimal is the latest co-op shooter coming from Capcom, which will see teams try to take down hordes of dinosaurs that have returned to Earth. Gameplay in Exoprimal will have you slaying dinosaurs with futuristic augments, using exoskeletons and a variety of different weapons in the game.

Its primary mode will see two teams of five players competing against one another, so for a rundown on whether you'll need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live for Exoprimal before you can dive in, keep reading.

Unfortunately, you will require a PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play Exoprimal. This is according to the game’s official page on the PlayStation Store. This means that gamers can't play the title offline, either, as Exoprimal must always be connected to servers.

While there are three tiers of PlayStation Plus, fortunately, you will only need the cheapest tier (PlayStation Plus Essential) to play the game online.

However, given that Exoprimal is an online-only experience, it's impossible to play Exoprimal without paying for PlayStation Plus.

As such, it's best to factor in the cost of PlayStation Plus when purchasing Exoprimal on PlayStation.

You will also need a Xbox Live subscription to play Exoprimal. Fortunately with Xbox, if you are a subscriber to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, then you will have Xbox Live included as part of your subscription, and considering Exoprimal is on Game Pass, it’s effectively a two-for-one.

Just like on PlayStation, it's impossible to play Exoprimal offline on Xbox platforms. So, if you want to play the game at all, it's essential to own an Xbox Live subscription.

Do you need to pay for Exoprimal online services on PC?

No, Exoprimal online services are completely free to use if you're playing on PC. This is a luxury that PC players are used to at this point, and that doesn't change with Exoprimal either.

If you own and play Exoprimal on PC, then there are no additional charges to consider when playing online, once you have the game you’re just good to go.

That is everything you need to know about whether you'll need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live to play Exoprimal when it releases soon.
