Dying Light 2 Treasure Hunt Quest: How To Crack The Cipher For The Safe
The Dying Light 2 Treasure Hunt quest is one of the most cerebral missions in the game, and it sees you cracking a cipher to track down a secret stash. Like a few quests in Dying Light 2, this can be only be accessed by making certain choices in preceding quests. It can take a bit of effort to decode the message you are given for the Dying Light 2 Treasure Hunt quest, so here's a walkthrough on how to find the treasure.

Dying Light 2 Treasure Hunt Quest: Decoding The Message
Click to enlargeAfter you get the quest, you will be directed toward the library aboard the Peacekeeper ship. Inside, you can ask the librarian Albert if he has any books on ciphers, and we will give you three to look at. Afterwards, three books will be available to read inside the library, along with the cipher.
The two books on the shelves are about the history of ciphers, and don't have a connection to solving the cipher itself. On the table in the middle of the room, you can find the book which details how to decode common ciphers and the cipher next to it. Read the book, and it will give you the means to decode the message, and if you read the cipher again, a note will appear that gives you the code for each letter.

You can figure out the cipher yourself if you wish, but we went through the trouble of decoding it, and it spells out the following message: "Muddy Ground. Water Tower. Basement. Zero Three. Two One. Six Seven." There is no quest marker for this, but the tower is marked on the map, and is only a few hundred feet away from the Peacekeeper ship. Check the map below for our position.
Click to enlargeOnce you get to the tower, you can enter through the main door and drop directly down into the water. Near a UV stick underwater, there is a safe on top of some pallets. Go toward it and enter the code you received from the cipher - 032167 - and it will open up, rewarding you with some grenades and C4 charges.
