Just when you think you know all there is to know about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, along comes a Giant Hand that literally wipes you out. If you've ever played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you'll know the terror of walking through the Forest Temple, only to be crushed from above by a massive Wallmaster. It's not quite the same here, but that hasn't stopped Treyarch's Cold War Zombies introducing its own Giant Hand as a cleverly-placed Easter egg.

More than just being one for the bucket list, the giant Easter egg is also key to managing weapons levels and will automatically upgrade your current weapon's tier to Legendary. If you fancy yourself as the next Russell Adler, you might want to know how to find the Giant Hand in the game's "Die Maschine" and how to complete the Easter egg to your advantage. Trust us, this isn't one for the faint-hearted, but if you're a sharp-shooting CoD player that wants to do it all, read on to find out how you can master this hand of horrors.

Where to find the Cold War Zombies Giant Hand

Firstly, we'd recommend you don't do this on a Solo Zombies because a lot of your time will be spent facing into Medical Bay and leaving your back open to attack from brain-hungry munchers. Having a couple of teammates to watch your back is a real benefit here. That being said, you can try it on your own if you're feeling brave enough.

To get things started, enter the topsy-turvy Dark Aether through any of Zombies' many fast-travel portals. Make a quick dash over to Medical Bay - which we're sure is a regular landmark on your map if you're used to Zombies. Find the barrier on the left-hand side of the Speed Cola perk machine and look to the four doors with red buttons next to them. Shoot each of the buttons (in any order) and watch as Nova 6 Gas pours out from each of them. Trigger the next step by shooting the green button by the fifth door. This is where the Giant Hand comes in.

How to feed the Giant Hand

Remember that you only have a limited amount of time in the Dark Aether, meaning you'll want to get this polished off as quickly as possible before the rounds progress. The hand is pretty p*ssed, which you can use to your advantage. Whenever a zombie comes through the barrier and dashes toward you, you'll want to shoot the green button and cause the hand to burst out of the room to kill your incoming attacker. Timing is key, but practice a few times, and you should get the hang/hand of it.

To complete the Cold War Zombies Giant Hand Easter egg, players need to rack up 15 zombie kills using this fearsome fist. When you've "fed" the Giant Hand 15 zombies, a purple orb will fly down the hallway toward you. Make sure you're holding the weapon you want to become Legendary. Of course, taking on a Giant Hand isn't the only way to make a weapon Legendary in Zombies. Stick around long enough, and you should be able to salvage enough for an upgrade, while there's also the beloved "Coffin Dance" Easter egg to level-up your arsenal.

Anyone familiar with Zombies will notice the Giant Hand looks like the monster you encounter during Round 45. It's clearly not happy to be trapped in "Die Machine", but to be honest, would you want to spend long there either? Now you know where to find the Cold War Zombies Giant Hand Easter egg, why don't you shake hands with it for yourselves?
