Cyber Monday week is here, and for PC gamers, that means it's time for the annual Steam Autumn sale - one of the big four sales throughout the year when you can find fantastic deals on games across the storefront.

2023 has been one of the biggest years for gaming in a long time, and as the year comes to a close, some of the best games are starting to get big discounts. Add on all of the classic titles from years past with massive price cuts, and there's a whole lot to sift through this sale.

RPGs in the Autumn Sale

  • Release date: 06/09/23
  • Price drop: 20% off

The latest open world (or, galaxy) RPG from Bethesda Studios, Starfield takes the tried and true formula of games like Elder Scrolls and Fallout to new heights. The worst thing we can say about Starfield is it launched in an absolutely stacked year for RPGs and games in general, so if it has been sitting on your to-do list for a while, now is a great time to pick it up.

The game is also available through Game Pass, including on PC. If you are not a subscriber and the service doesn't appeal to you much, the Steam version can be yours this week with a 20% discount.

Diablo 4

  • Release date: 05/06/23 (17/10/23 on Steam)
  • Price drop: 40% off

Another major RPG release from this year, Diablo 4 can be picked up on Steam during the Autumn sale for 40% off the regular price. Diablo 4 had a positive launch, but failed to retain some players as time went on.

However, the recent launch of Season of Blood has made improvements to the game, and many fans are returning. With the game back on the upswing, now is a great time to get into Diablo 4.

Cyberpunk 2077

  • Release date: 10/12/20
  • Price drop: 50% off base game, 39% off Phantom Liberty bundle

In some ways, 2023 was the year the "real" Cyberpunk 2077 was released. While nothing can erase the disastrous launch in 2020, a string of steady updates and upgrades has dramatically improved the quality of the game. In recent months, two major additions have come to the game.

The 2.0 update has overhauled the game, bringing it much more in line with the promise Cyberpunk 2077 had before launch. Alongside this update comes the Phantom Liberty expansion, which adds a new location and storyline to the game. The expansion on its own is often regarded as one of the best releases of the year.

Right now, you can get the base game for half price, which includes all the free improvements added over the years. You can go all out and get Cyberpunk 2077 bundled with Phantom Liberty for 39% less than the usual price.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

  • Release date: 10/11/20
  • Price drop: 80% off base game

With Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth just around the corner and Like a Dragon Gaiden having just released, now is an excellent time to play Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This is one of the best RPGs released in recent years, with a direct sequel coming in January.

80% off one of the most fun, inventive, and enthralling games of the decade so far is an absolute bargain, be sure to pick this one up if you haven't already.

Love-de-Lic | Onion Games

  • Release date: 16/10/1997
  • Price drop: 30% off

The debut game by Love-de-Lic will undoubtedly be one of the most intriguing games you'll play, as it subverts and plays on many RPG tropes, having you be a supporting character in a world where the so-called 'hero' has brought chaos and destruction.

As the name suggests, moon is a reinvention of the RPG genre, parodying much of the classical conventions that you might expect from a game like this and challenging much of what you'd expect from a role-playing experience. It is a huge influence on Undertale, and 30% off right now in the Steam Autumn sale, so definitely pick it up if this sounds up your street.

Action/Adventure games in the Autumn Sale

Red Dead Redemption 2

  • Release date: 26/10/18
  • Price drop: 67% off base game

One of the highest-rated games for a reason, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a beautiful and sombre tale of cowboys in the dying West. The game gives you a massive and gorgeous world to explore on horseback, with endless things to see and do.

Now on PC, players can experience Red Dead 2 in all its glory, and now they can do so with a massive 67% off the price tag, 70% off if you fork out for the Ultimate edition.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

  • Release date: 26/10/21
  • Price drop: 75% off base game

The Guardians get their very own game in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. This title brings all the love and charm of the films to a unique take on the star-hopping superheroes. You play as Star-Lord, leading the Guardians in an ill-prepared attempt to save the galaxy, yet again.

This is one of the best standalone Marvel games out there, a gem that is a steal at 75% off. If this game flew under your radar before now, this is your chance to pick it up.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice GOTY Edition

  • Release date: 21/03/19
  • Price drop: 50% off

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice offers a shift from the classic Soulslike formula that catapulted FromSoftware into iconic status, departing from open-ended dodge-based combat in favour of a more singular approach that lives and dies on your ability to parry.

Many players compare Sekiro to a rhythm game and they are certainly not wrong, as each battle you take challenges you to keep up and match your enemy's movements - and that is certainly easier said than done. It features some of my all-time favourite FromSoft bosses (and one that might just be the hardest), so if you've played and loved Elden Ring or Dark Souls and haven't yet tried Sekiro then you're doing yourself a disservice.

Fighting games in the Autumn Sale

Street Fighter 6

  • Release date: 02/06/23
  • Price drop: 34% off

In 2023, the gold standard of fighting games returned to prominence. Street Fighter 6 rights many of the wrongs of SF5, adding much more content and ways to play. It also brought back style to the game, bringing some of the 90's flair back to the franchise.

All of this is gravy on top of one of the best fighting games ever made. With Mortal Kombat 1 out and Tekken 8 on the horizon, we are living through a new fighting game golden era. If you want to join in the fun, you can do so with a handy discount of 34% off.

Mortal Kombat 1

  • Release date: 19/09/23
  • Price drop: 30% off

Speaking of top-tier fighting games, the even more recently released Mortal Kombat 1 has also gotten a sweet price drop in the Steam sale for Cyber Monday. We rated this game very highly, and it has only grown better with the recent addition of Omni-Man.

Grab Mortal Kombat 1 for 30% off right now and enjoy one of the best entries in the legendary series.

Horror games in the Autumn Sale

Resident Evil 4

  • Release date: 24/03/23
  • Price drop: 34% off

It's a pretty impressive feat to be one of the best games ever made and do it twice, but somehow Resident Evil 4 managed to pull it off. The more recent version is the remake that was released earlier this year, a strong contender for the best game of 2023.

The remake is absolutely stunning, and definitely worth playing on PC if your machine is up to par. With the recently released Separate Ways DLC, there is even more reason to return to the game. If you have yet to play the game at all, this 34% price drop is an excellent incentive to do so.

Sons of the Forest

  • Release date: 23/02/23
  • Price drop: 20% off

The sequel to the extremely popular survival horror game The Forest, Sons of the Forest brings players back to the dangerous wilderness and pits them against mutated horrors and aggressive locals.

What's more, you can take on this challenge with your friends, as the game is fully playable in co-op. This is one of the sleeper hits of 2023, and with a 20% mark down should be appearing in the Steam shopping carts of many.

Multiplayer shooters in the Autumn Sale

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

  • Release date: 01/12/15
  • Price drop: 60% off

While its departure from the tactical single-player format of old Tom Clancy games caused some backlash at the beginning, Rainbow Six Siege has surged on to become one of the biggest multiplayer games out there that is still going strong in its eighth year of content.

With over 60 different Attackers and Defenders to choose from, you'll be able to approach or defend bomb sites with a number of different unique gadgets. Tight mechanics, destructibility, and teamwork define the R6 experience - so if that sounds up your street then you can pick up the base edition and start climbing the ranks.

BattleBit Remastered

  • Release date: 15/06/23
  • Price drop: 20% off

We could have very easily opted to put the newest entry of the Battlefield series on this list, but instead, we've gone for its lower-fidelity counterpart that takes things that bit further. Boasting a staggering 254 players per server, BattleBit Remastered takes so much of what fans love about the Battlefield games and takes it up another level.

Of course, the graphics are nowhere near as good as its counterpart - but that's all part of the magic as it facilitates the sheer scale on offer. There's an abundance of different weapons to try out, alongside a healthy player base still active within the community.

Left 4 Dead 2

  • Release date: 20/11/09
  • Price drop: 90% off

Left 4 Dead 2 is technically not a multiplayer shooter in the same vein as the other entries in this section, but it remains one of the best games that you can pick up in every single Steam sale. Offering a campaign that you can tackle both single-player and with up to three friends, L4D2 is still in my eyes the perfect zombie game that will likely never be topped.

Multiple different enemy types, the chaos of a horde, the fear that a witch brings, and the shredding sounds of Source engine weapons - it doesn't get better than this. Moreover, things are made even better with the sheer number of mods that you can easily download from the Steam Workshop, bringing new weapons, character skins (including Shrek, of course), and even entirely new campaigns for you to play. You genuinely can't get much better for $0.99 - cheaper than a coffee!

That's all for our coverage of the best Steam Autumn sale deals for Cyber Monday 2023, and now you know a bunch of the best offers.
