Throughout Assassin's Creed: Mirage, your tools will come in handy for contracts and assassinations, so it's vital you learn how to unlock more and upgrade them to be more effective.

Assassin's Creed: Mirage is a throwback to the older AC titles, with many of the returning features found throughout the first several entries in the franchise. Tools are just one aspect that's still in the game, but they've been changed to fit Mirage's more stealthy gameplay style.

So, if you want to max out your assassin's arsenal for your adventures around ancient Baghdad, check out how to unlock and upgrade tools in Assassin's Creed: Mirage

How to unlock tools in Assassin's Creed: Mirage

To unlock more tools in Assassin's Creed: Mirage, you will need to progress further into the main story and acquire specific skills from the Trickster skill tree.

When you finally become an assassin and really start the game by going to Baghdad, you will only have the Throwing Knives and a Torch.

At this point, the Extra Tool Capacity 1, 2, and 3 skills in the Trickster skill tree will be locked. You will need to progress further into the story to unlock your next tool in AC Mirage, which then unlocks the ability to acquire more tool slots with skill points.

To upgrade tools in Assassin's Creed: Mirage, you will need to speak to Abu Jafar (a.k.a. Ibn Musa) at the Assassin Bureau.

This will also be locked off for the first couple of hours, as you need to start the Jailbreak mission first. Once you get this though, Abu Jafar will set up shop and give you the ability to upgrade tools.

All tools can be upgraded in three tiers, with each one requiring progressively more Steel Ingots, Leather, and Components. When you upgrade to a new tier, you can also select a passive perk to add to the tool. These can be swapped out at any time when upgrading, so it doesn't matter what you initially pick.

It's also worth noting that once you discover another Assassin Bureau in Baghdad, you'll be able to upgrade your tools there too. Simply walk into the premises and look for the Ibn Musa stall in the Bureau.

That's all for our coverage of how to unlock and upgrade tools in Assassin's Creed: Mirage. Now you know the full process for adding more to your arsenal and then improving them.
