If you’re a fan of the Remedy Games like Alan Wake 2, then you’ve probably heard the name Sam Lake once or twice along the way, so we’re going to break down who Sam Lake is and what role he plays in Alan Wake 2.

Alan Wake 2 has a whole ensemble cast of voice and performance actors to bring their characters to life, so knowing who Sam Lake is among them is important before jumping into the game as a newcomer.

Here, we’re going to tell you who Sam Lake is, not just in Alan Wake 2 the game, but his impact at Remedy as well.

Sam Lake is the Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment who has written, conceptualised and starred in several of its iconic titles, including Max Payne, Control and, of course, the Alan Wake games.

In both Max Payne and Alan Wake, Sam Lake has provided the likeness for various characters that have then been voiced by James McCaffery.

In Alan Wake 2, Sam Lake once again makes an appearance, but his inclusion in this sequel is a little more unusual this time around, so you’ll have to read on to find out his role there.

In Alan Wake 2, Sam Lake plays an amalgamation of roles. You’ll first see his likeness as FBI Agent Alex Casey, though he is once again voiced by James McCaffery.

However, as you dive deeper into the game, particularly when you reach Alan’s segments in the story, he also plays a fictional version of himself as an actor in the role of Alex Casey in the film adaptation of Alan Wake’s books.

Sound confusing? Yeah, it is. But it’s what makes Alan Wake 2 an intriguing game, and a particularly scary one at that.

That’s everything you need to know about Sam Lake and his role in Alan Wake 2. As you get further into the game, you’ll learn more about how pivotal he is in the game’s story. In the meantime, be sure to check out the shotgun code in Alan Wake 2 so you can be as powerful as possible.
