Warzone 2 is in a spot of bother. The developers promised not to make the same mistakes as the first title did, but here we are.

We're left wondering why we're playing a game with the same meta since its release and a lack of promises of a better quality of life.

With a similarly themed Resurgence map planned to come as a distraction of what actually needs attending to, fans now claim that this is not what needs to be prioritised.

Resurgence maps, such as Rebirth Island and Fortune's Keep proved to be a resounding success in the original game, however, in this current state, gamers think the sequel can't be saved by simply adding a new landscape.

Warzone Fans Hoping For Movement Changes Before Resurgence Map

With Warzone 2 in dire straights, fans of the franchise have now claimed that the movement mechanics won't be beneficial in-game.

Long-time leaker TheGhostOfHope claimed that "low TTK, no plating while sprinting, slow movement, and backpack looting," will not play well on a resurgence map.

The leaker suggested that the metrics might significantly increase for the first few weeks, but the player count will soon fall off - maybe even below what we already have.

This would be because many players are only playing Al Mazrah while they wait for a Resurgence map, meaning a Resurgence flop could turn them away from Warzone 2 even more.

Warzone Players Think Resurgent Map Won't 'Save' The Game

After one fan hypothesised that "farting out a resurgence map" wouldn't help the game at all, others soon hoped that Raven Software might dabble with some changed movement mechanics that would suit the fast-paced gameplay.

"The looting and plating alone will make it rough," added another player, hopeful that there will be a streamlined way of picking up necessities after a gunfight.

Another added, "This game is dead. Caldera is be better than this "new game" and I can't believe I'm saying this," while a third said, "Instead of resurgence they need to bring a full respawn mode. That way people can actually fight instead of playing loot simulator."

Unless Warzone Resurgence wants to be like Apex Legends' third-party central, with players getting consistently caught looting deathboxes, there might need to be a few tweaks before a Rebirth-esque map is added.
