Warzone Players Furious That Lobbies Are 'Filled With Hackers Again'

Call of Duty: Warzone players just can't catch a break as they've once again reported the game's lobbies are being overrun by hackers. Although Activision has said it's taking a no-nonsense approach to hacking in Warzone, that hasn't stopped cheaters continuously finding a way to bypass the systems and turn Verdansk into a hacker's paradise. Things seemed to get better for a while, but now, there's been an uptick in hackers popping up in lobbies.

Fans always knew hacking was going to be an issue when enabling crossplay, but as more and more console players lose their rag with increasingly hack-filled matches, the pressure is on for the developers and Activision to do more. Despite hack sites being shut down by Activision's legal warnings, two pop up in place of everyone that's axed.

Are hackers still a problem in Warzone?

Posting on Reddit, u/CivChris groaned as they lamented they "can't count" the number of hackers they've come across in the battle royale giant. The outraged player told Activision to "sort your sh*t out!". They complained, "Once you know there’s a hacker in every lobby pretty much, you see it everywhere! Getting followed through walls, getting people who have just landed know exactly where you are.... it’s endless". The redditor also had no love for Juggernauts, simply saying, "What the f**k are they thinking".

The stories didn't end there though. Another player added, "It’s the times when I’m free falling and I get all headshotted where I know it’s aimbot. I’ve come to accept that, there’s nothing I can do about that. It’s annoying but fine. What’s more annoying is when they’re only red boxing. You can see them follow you through a wall or round a corner, and you have half a chance to kill them and shoot back because mostly they’re terrible at the game, but they have the jump on you so it’s rare. It’s the hope that kills you".

A third added, "I own a PC shop and have had quite a few pc's of kids that had all kinds of game hacks on them for COD, Battlefield, Battlefront PuBG etc. a Kid's mom actually asked me if I know of any cheat programs so her kid can play better online against other people... I mean wtf!"

What is Activision doing to stop hacking in Call of Duty: Warzone?

In September, it was claimed a hacking cull gave 20,000 cheaters the boot, while Activision has doubled down on its mission and promised more hacker bans are on the way. It's unclear why there's been a boom in hacking, however, it could have something to do with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's upcoming release and the idea that Activision is too busy with its next game to be worrying about cheating Warzone players.

Although a simple solution would be to disable crossplay, it takes away a lot of the game's fun and can lead to extended queue times. Also, it's not as easy as that for Xbox One players. Hopefully, Activision can tackle things swiftly. Bearing in mind Cold War is set to integrate with Warzone in the near future, it would be a shame to tarnish the reputation of the next-gen game with PC players hacking the battle royale title. Remember, cheaters never prosper.
