VALORANT Pro Nisay Banned For Allegedly Cheating

Some have often called the number one player in a game "cheat codes" for the way that they manipulate their minds to become a part of the game and understand the way it can be played. Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok of League of Legends, and even Rocket League's player of the year Evan "M0nkey M00n" Rogez all seem familiar with this title.

Over in VALORANT, the games raw nature has meant that not many players have been able to rise through the ranks and become an outstanding 'best player in the game', leaving many to look towards the ranked leaderboards. Sat on top of the EU ladder was Yasin ‘Nisay’ Gök, a Turkish 24-year-old contracted to Besiktas Esports.

Until February 4, where he was banned from "all official Riot Games organizations for 12 months", including VALORANT. The ban comes after Riot Games' fraud protection team has identified NesaY as reportedly using cheats during a ranked match.

As a result of the ban, Besiktas Esports has released Nesay from the organisation effective immediately, stating "We have terminated the contract of our player Yasin "Nisay" Gök. We will make the necessary explanations about the future of our VALORANT team in the upcoming days".

Not going down without a fight though, Nesay has demanded proof of the cheats. In a translated Twitlonger, Nesay has said "I’m not so stupid enough to cheat just because I am Radiant in a competitive match", before calling into question the lack of severity in the punishment and no proof being provided. He continued to say "When we asked them what 3rd party software etc. would you show us evidence, we are under community pressure, and they said they would not.  I personally think I have been wronged".

“If they had actually detected that I was cheating, a permanent ban would have been applied."

Riot has yet to elaborate on the issue, but it appears they have had their hands full in recent weeks with other hackers being purged, including a player who was scrimming against Dignitas's Female roster.
