VALORANT players have spoken and they want Riot Games to add a reworked buy back feature to the first-person shooter. A big addition to October's Act 3 1.10 update added the ability to sell back guns bought for a teammate. On the surface, this sounded like a great move, however, more and more fans have reported it's glitchy to say the least.

The VALORANT credit system rewards you for kills, round end income, and by either planting or defusing the spike. Managing your economy becomes a minefield, meaning it's easy for new players to become lost with juggling finances. The VALORANT buy phase gives you and your squad 30 seconds to purchase your perfect arsenal and loadout. While 30 seconds sounds like a long time, it goes in the blink of an eye.

Posting on Twitter, there's a growing number of players who are reporting a glitch where the buy back feature doesn't work. Worryingly, this can leave your team down a weapon and out of pocket with up to 2,900 credits. Professional player Damian "daps" Steele highlighted the issue and wrote, "When you resell a weapon someone buys you they do not get their money back always".

Someone responded to daps and added, "I hope they see this resell bug where you dont get your money back, has left me moneyless multiple times after a teammate requested a vandal after refunding me my creds, only to have us both at a loss, only one of us having a gun".

Requesting that a teammate buy you a weapon works reasonably well, however, the buy back feature isn't all it's cracked up to be- effectively becoming a lose-lose situation and what that should be carefully considered.

When it comes to VALORANT, the buy back bug seems to be occurring at random, so we can't give any advice on how to avoid it. The buy phase is a crucial part of gameplay in terms of strategy ideas and distributing weapons. Economic management is also key as the team must work together to decide whether to splash the credits or save up for something better.

At the time of writing, VALORANT devs haven't responded to claims about a glitchy buy back feature, but expect them to do so if it continues to be a niggle. Will players get their wish for a working buy back feature? Watch this space.
